National Pit Bull Awareness Day was founded by Cookeville, TN resident Jodi Preis of Bless the Bully’s. This national event is held across the country annually on the third Saturday in October each year. The events are put on by 100% volunteer driven organizations or individual pit bull advocates in support of the noble, and often misunderstood, bully breeds. This family and dog friendly event is a fun-filled day that celebrates the bully breeds, promotes responsible pit bull ownership, and helps educate the public about the bully breeds. We strive to help dispel the media hype and myths that are prevalent in today's society in addition to providing educational resources for bully owners in need and advocate against Breed Specific Legislation (BSL).
